    Something New In 10.2.5??

I've got a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (Intellieye with scroll wheel) attached to my Pismo, but don't experience the same thing as you Spitty27 in 10.2.5 The only suggestion I have is remove the Logitec mouse .plist file, restart and see if you experience the same again.

    Fireworks problem

Locate the .plist file (~Users/Library/Preferences) and delete it. If that doesn't work, update your prebindings and clean up your cache files using something like System Optimizer X 4.0. If that doesn't work, uninstall - restart - empty the trash - then reinstall the software. Zeal :)

    can't load application properly

I experienced major problems with Mac Help too at one stage. All was fixed when I deleted the plist (preferences) files. Delete: com.apple.help.plist (and I think com.apple.helpviewer.plist too, but aren't certain about the latter) which you'll find in ~Users/(your login account...

    Print Center Keeps Crashing

Are you sure that the paper-size has been set to that which you are using? Over here in New Zealand, the standard paper-size is A4, so we always have to change it from the usual factory default of US Letter. You can set the default paper-size in the Preferences option under the Print Center...

    Print Center Keeps Crashing

I had exactly the same problem with the HP Deskjet 3820 at work. I downloaded an app called Print Center Repair (now version 2.0.3) (download it from Macupdate.com here) and Repaired Permissions, Cups Directory, and Spool Directory, then did the Delete Temporary Files and Preference Files...

    Office V.x SR1 Problems

Are you running the apps from the Dock? If so, have you placed your new apps in the Dock, or are you running the old superceded apps that are now actually sitting in your Trash?. I had a similar problem and it was because of this reason. :)

    Background app scrolling

I've only just noticed that I don't seem to be able to scroll a background window by using the mouse scroll button, now that I've upgraded to 10.2.4. I'm sure this was a feature that existed with 10.2.3. I actually noticed it first when Safari arrived. In fact, Safari is a bit picky about how...

    Finding Office v.X version

Entourage does show the current version installed if you select "About Entourage". The other Office apps only show you the Service Release version. So to find out the current version, do a "Get info..." from the Finder, or if you're in column view, click on the app and it'll show you in the...

    Firewire problems on Powerbook

Haven't rung Apple yet, but I was thinking that maybe I need to change the pins on the back of the hard drive unit itself. At the moment there are no pins, and it appears it is set to "master" by the diagrams writing on the hard drive label. Does anyone know if changing it to "slave" or any...

    Firewire problems on Powerbook

I've spent over an hour sifting thru Apple's KB but can't find anything specific. I've got all the latest OS9 and OSX updates. 10.2.4 hasn't made any difference. Could the firmware on my PB be corrupted some way? Is there a way to flush the firmware and reinstall it? Could that be a possible...

    Firewire problems on Powerbook

It seems that I am the victim of a never ending saga of external Firewire hard drive failures. I'm running a PowerBook G3 Pismo/2000 - have 10.2.3 and 9.2.2 installed on two separate partitions on the internal 30GB IBM Travelstar HD. Things on that end work extremely well, now that I replaced...

    powerbook firmware

I go off the Boot Rom info in Apple System Profiler. In my case, a PB G3 Pismo/2000 - it shows my Boot Rom version to be 4.1.8f5. I think it might also show it when you start up while holding Cmd-S or Cmd-V, or if you startup into Open Firmware - haven't checked this though. Zeal :)

    Office v X Entourage

The only other suggestions I have are: 1. Check your Rules to see if there is something in there that shouldn't be. 2. Check your firewall settings:- 2(a) If you've got Norton Personal Firewall running, check to make sure that in the Preferences you don't have "Enable protection for UDP as...

    Office v X Entourage

gedette Have you checked to make sure that your smtp server info is correct for who you are connected to? I had a similar, if not same problem, where I couldn't send emails when I went on holiday connected through a different ISP. I finally worked out that I had to change the smtp info...

ATI driver update - can I use it to update my PowerBook G3?

Just wondering if the latest ATI driver updater file can be used to update the ATI Rage Mobility (8MB VRAM) in my PowerBook Pismo (aka 2000/Firewire). I've downloaded the file (filename= radeon-0210.sit) and read the Readme file but it doesn't list my model graphics card. I've read how other...

128 MB Ram isn't enough for Jagz...

MacLuv, I've just upgraded by PowerBook G3 Pismo with another 512MB so am now running 768MB :D . I was experiencing sluggishness with only 384MB and noticed (when running top in Terminal) that I was having severe pageouts. Now with 768MB, hardly any pageouts and a very slight improvemnt on...

    Big iMovie Problems

In reply (no particular order): 1. Apple's iMovie camcorder compatibility list shows the TRV900E (PAL) is compatible. I assume they have tested it to make sure and haven't merely made an assumption themselves... 2. I too am running Jaguar, but 10.1.5 didn't work either so I am certain this is...

    Office v.X SR1 and Jaguar

I too had the same problem when I had both OS9 and OSX on the same partition. This is no longer a problem for me now as I upgraded my (PowerBook) hard drive to 30GB (from 6GB) and have OSX and OS9 on separate partitions. I have found this to be a far more stable and amiable relationship for my...
