Way to use Apple Mail Rules on iPad?

Is there a way to enable Junk Mail filtering on the iPad? I have a macosx.com account and as long as my desktop computer is running, my iPad follows my Apple Mail Rules and filters out Junk Mail. But when my eMac is powered down, I am deluged with junk on my iPad 3G. Simply moving mail to...

    Meteorologist Is Back!

Meteorologist (aka Meteo), a menubar utility that displays current weather and forecast, went down back in January when weather.com changed their layout. But now it is back, and better than ever with new Alerts in Preferences. Download Meteorologist 1.4.9 Todays weather: Sunny and beautiful!

Apple Mail Not Playing New Mail Sound

For a long time now, Apple Mail has not been playing any sound when new mail arrives (the other Mail sounds still work.) Doesn't matter which sound I have enabled, or what schedule I select, silence. Checked com.apple.mail.plist and my selection seems to be there, dunno why it is not working...

    D'Oh! Recent Mail Snafus

I am running the most up-to-date Leopard on an eMac (1.42 GHz) and have recently had a couple of real snafus with Apple Mail using my macosx.com account. The first happened the other day after I had dragged and dropped a 64 KB jpg from a message stored in my Sent mailbox to a New message (I...

No Paper Tape for Calculator since 10.5.7 Update

Having updated to 10.5.7, Calculator no longer displays Paper Tape on my G4. Funnily enough, Save Tape As... still appears in the File Menu. Huh? Okay restarted and it is back, whew! Wish Show Paper Tape were a preference that could be saved, half the time Calculator...

    eMac screwy after power outage

Yesterday evening there was a little lightening here abouts and the whole town lost power for around seven hours (I do not believe my home was struck, just the utility.) Upon manual restart, the date and time on my eMac had reverted to I think December 1977. Odd, because the PRAM battery is...

Login Items: Apple Mail Runs But It Can Not Hide

I have Mail.app included in my list of Login Items in Accounts Preferences and have checked the box to Hide. But whenever I start up my eMac, the Message Viewer appears anyway, though it is not "in focus". I also have Activity Monitor selected to Hide, which it actually does. What gives?

Why is coreservicesd eating up so much RAM?

And why is VM over 30GB? Okay, some history: Got an eMac 1.42 GHz, 2MB RAM with Tiger pre-installed. Used Migration Assistant to transfer over my settings and such from my old iMac G3, also running Tiger. This worked fine. Then I got an external HD from Newer Technology and...

What the %$#@! is going on with SU in Leopard?

Am running 10.5.5 on a G4. Whenever there is an update on SU, it first (supposedly) downloads in the background (it will show percent complete on the bottom of the SU window.) But then when I click on Install, I get the progress bars while it individually re-downloads the same updates. Then...

What's this I see in Mail all of a Sudden?

Just noticed all these superfluous sub-mailboxes in my macosx.com account. Never saw an Apple Mail to-do list there before, nor all those extra Sent boxes. Running 10.4.11 on my [PPC] eMac, have Leopard on an external FW drive not currently mounted.

    Migrate via Ethernet?

Hey Gang. Just got a deal an eMac 1.42; when it arrives, would like install Leopard and transfer my User folder over from my Bondi iMac G3 (iForced to 500 MHz G4, running Tiger). Problem is, the older machine doesn't have firewire; without buying a new HD FW enclosure, is there a way...

    Apple rules on South Park

"Over Logging" is now available for viewing at South Park Studios. In this episode, Macs are heavily featured, and Safari is ubiquitous. (Stan's dad Randy has an iMac, complete with aluminum keyboard. The Apple logo is replaced by some kind of fruit slice on all the Mac Book Pros, and there...

Streaming Radio Saved to iTunes Music Library

Every time I launch a streaming station, a new copy is generated as a track in my iTunes Music Library. Is there any way to keep that from happening? (I really hate having streaming stations showing up in Party Shuffle!) It's a real pain, having to continually delete streaming tracks...

    Resizing Text

On some sites (e.g., The Onion) changing the viewable text size on one page will correspondingly change the text size on linked pages. It would be great if this site could behave like that too! ThanX for considering this ridiculous suggestion Scott.

    IceKey Not NiceKey

Actually I really love my new Macally iceKey USB Slim Keyboard (Black), but it does have one little annoying foible. Out of 108 keys, there are four dedicated to Volume and Eject. Upon startup, these dedicated keys work fine, but some time later they will stop responding-- no action, no...

    Click-Lock?

    Sorry Safari

Lately, perhaps since 10.4.8?, my Safari browser has been acting up, cursor-wise. Hovering over a hyperlink will fail to highlight it (or to bring up previews in forums), the cursor arrow likewise neglecting to switch to the pointing hand. Mouse-clicking on the link will also fail to produce...
